We are open every day BUT Sunday!
Our times for most activities are typically:
8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm
Appointments by reservation only!
We ask that all riders be eight years or older to go on a trail ride. Whether or not a child can participate is contingent upon the child's attitude and stature. Taller, more outgoing children will have more success as opposed to a more petite, timid child.
We accept riders of all shapes and sizes. However, if you are exceptionally tall or an individual weighing over 250lbs, please let us know so that we can have the appropriate horses and equipment available for your enjoyment. We cannot accept riders over 300lbs
We do not allow children to ride double with their parents on our trail rides. This is for the safety of our clients as well as our horses. People who trailer in with their own horses or who board their horses at the farm are welcome to ride double with their children at their own risk.
Absolutely not! So long as you are capable of asking your horse to move out and maintain your balance while doing so, you are welcome to walk, trot, canter, or even gallop on our rides! Please make sure to communicate your goals to your trail ride and/or to the agent with whom you book your ride in order to make sure you have the best experience possible!
In the case of inclement weather, we will contact you AS SOON as we are aware that the weather may conflict with your booking. If you have any doubt about the conditions, give us a call before you leave to come to the farm for your reservation. If we decide it is not safe to ride out, the ride will be canceled and you will not be responsible for the cost of your reservation. If we decide to ride out, you must be on the horse reserved for you or you will be responsible for the cost of your reservation.
NO! Most of our clients have NEVER sat on a horse before. NO experience is required whatsoever! If you are very worried, we encourage you to take a horseback riding lesson with our instructor to focus on the basics of riding so that you may prepare more thoroughly for your ride. All trail rides begin with a short lesson in the arena to make sure that you are able to stop and steer your horse before we allow you on trail!
YES! Our horses are very calm, gentle, quiet horses who are, quite honestly, saints! If you ride horses often, it is inevitable that you may one day fall off, but we boast an average "fall rate" of less than 1%. We have safety precautions and practices in place to protect our clients and give you every chance to have a fantastic ride!
You are welcome to book back-to-back rides if you'd like to ride for a longer period of time. Our typical one-hour tour is a very satisfactory amount of time for those who are not everyday riders. If you want to ride for a block of several hours, please contact Michelle in the office and ask about day leasing - we offer "all day ride passes" for experienced riders who want to ride out without a guide, but there are a few steps you must take before you're allowed to take advantage of this unique opportunity!
Why stay in a hotel? You can stay on property in one of our cabins for $75 per night! Call or text us for more information.
Included in our cabin rentals is use of our in-ground swimming pool and access to our fishing pond, which we keep stocked for our clients. No fishing license required, but please bring your own fishing equipment! Catch and release only!
We also offer hand-lead horse or pony rides for adults or children who do not wish to experience a trail ride. Pony rides are $15 per person.
Our petting zoo is open to visitors of all ages to enjoy! Get up close and personal with our critters, including our zonkey and camel! We have goats, llamas, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, rabbits, ducks, etc., the whole nine! Best of all, it's FREE and you do not need a reservation to visit! Just show up!
Looking for a different experience? We also offer horse-drawn wagon rides! We have wagon rides available for $15 per person!
We have six hundred acres of land for you to explore: feel free to take a hike through the woods, up the creek, through the fields, etc., and enjoy nature as it was meant to be enjoyed!
Conveniently located to Smith Mountain Lake, Roanoke, Lynchburg, and more, there's a plethora of family fun to be had within a short drive of the farm!

Our Farm has a large variety of horses; most of whom are available for public use.
They come with a variety for histories and experiences.
Once they arrive with us, we provide them a safe home and give them a purpose. Once we have worked with them to complete any needed training, and confirmed that they are both sound and sane, we work toward finding them their forever home.
Our horses provide a number of services to the public. They fill roles such as trail horses, carriage and wagon horses, lesson horses, and children's pony ride horses.
We are proud of our animals and love for the public to come and spend time with them.
We sell our horses with a SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. We offer trial periods and payment plans.
This family-owned farm has been in operation for decades, with a generational tradition of working and raising quality horses.
We are always working to stay relevant and exciting in a world that's rapidly evolving. There's always something new going on at the farm!
Come learn how to hook a team and take a wagon ride in the country. We pride ourselves on keeping these old-timey traditions alive!
