Trail Rides
Family Oriented
Our trail rides are a great family experience!
Riders as young as eight years old can enjoy a beginner safe, relaxing ride on horseback across our 600 acres.
We have lessons and alternate experiences available for younger riders!
We're Different
We are not your normal nose-to-tail! We allow our clients to ride side by side and even pick up a little speed!
This is a great experience for intermediate and experienced riders as well as those who have never ridden before.
Great Prices
We are offering a one-hour trail ride for $30 a person - this special is only available Monday through Friday.
Our Saturday rides are $45 per person!
Don’t forget: if you enjoyed your ride, kiss your horse and tip your guide! If every rider tipped $5 each, it would make a world of difference for our hardworking guides!

FAQ’s
-
We require at least 48 hours’ notice of cancellation in order for your reservation to be eligible for refund. Reservations cancelled within that window are not eligible for cancellation, as we have already provided staffing and made accommodations around your ride time and that is lost time and money for our facility if you were to cancel your reservation. If you call and the office phone is not answered, please send an email at springvalleyfarmandcabins@gmail.com or shoot us a text on the office phone in order to establish a timeframe for your cancellation.

We do recommend an age limit of at least eight years old for trail rides. We make exceptions for children who are a little younger than that so long as they’re big for their age and outgoing in nature. Even older children who are petite and timid may not be able to participate. They must be able to demonstrate that they are able to control their own horse before they are allowed to leave the arena. We will do a lesson before we leave for the trail ride to evaluate every rider for their ability to stop, go, and steer their horse. Children tend to do really well so long as they’re excited and positive, not fearful and shy. We’re more than happy to book children on rides, but it is ultimately up to the discretion of the trail guide as to whether or not a child will be permitted to go out on the trail ride. We only want everyone to be safe and have a great time! Our horses are very gentle and quiet, but we don’t want anyone to get out on the trail and get nervous, lose their “gumption”, or otherwise. As long as you think the kiddos will do well, we’re good to book!
-
If your child (and this applies to adults at times as well!) is unable to demonstrate their ability to properly control their horse in the arena, the guide may suggest that they stay behind and do a small lesson in the arena (as staffing allows) or that they do a hand-led pony ride instead. in this case, an adult would have to stay back with the child to supervise them during the trail ride and no refunds will be offered because the spaces reserved for those two riders could have otherwise been rented out to other riders.

We welcome riders of all shapes and sizes. However, if you are exceptionally tall or an individual weighing over 250lbs, please let us know so that we can have the appropriate horses and equipment available for your enjoyment. Please also keep in mind that there is a difference between an athletic 250lbs and a non-athletic 250lbs. We may ask you if you would describe yourself as fit or not if you are over 250lbs and we may suggest a lesson for individuals who are significantly over that threshold, as balancing can be very challenging in certain circumstances and we only have everyone’s safety as our best interest! But don’t be afraid to contact us, we will do our best to make your horseback riding dreams come true!
-
We do not allow children to ride double with their parents on our trail rides. This is for the safety of our clients as well as our horses. People who trailer in with their own horses or who board their horses at the farm are welcome to ride double with their children at their own risk.
-
Absolutely not! So long as you are capable of asking your horse to move out and maintain your balance while doing so, you are welcome to walk, trot, canter, or even gallop on our rides! Please make sure to communicate your goals to your trail ride and/or to the agent with whom you book your ride in order to make sure you have the best experience possible! You are your OWN advocate in this circumstance - if you do not communicate your desire to pick up the pace with your guide, you may not get the opportunity to do so. Please, speak up!

In the case of inclement weather, we will contact you AS SOON as we are aware that the weather may conflict with your booking. If you have any doubt about the conditions, give us a call before you leave to come to the farm for your reservation. If we decide it is not safe to ride out, the ride will be canceled and you will not be responsible for the cost of your reservation. If we decide to ride out, you must be on the horse reserved for you or you will be responsible for the cost of your reservation.

NO! Most of our clients have NEVER sat on a horse before. NO experience is required whatsoever! If you are very worried, we encourage you to take a horseback riding lesson with our instructor to focus on the basics of riding so that you may prepare more thoroughly for your ride. All trail rides begin with a short lesson in the arena to make sure that you are able to stop and steer your horse before we allow you on trail!

You are welcome to book back-to-back rides if you'd like to ride for a longer period of time. Our typical one-hour tour is a very satisfactory amount of time for those who are not everyday riders. If you want to ride for a block of several hours, please contact Michelle in the office and ask about day leasing - we offer "all day ride passes" for experienced riders who want to ride out without a guide, but there are a few steps you must take before you're allowed to take advantage of this unique opportunity!
